Art nouveau inventors

Few days ago I finished reading a fantastic polish novel "The Doll" by Bolesław Prus. Action takes place in 19th century Warsaw.
In brief: this is a story about people in big city and about unrequited love of the main character (Mr Wokulski).

During a visit to Paris Wokulski meets an old scientist named Geist, who is trying to discover a metal lighter than air; in the hands of those who would use it to organize mankind, it could bring universal peace and happiness. Wokulski is torn between his misplaced, tragic love and the idea of settling in Paris and using his fortune to perfect Geist's invention.

I was very sad when finally author does not decide what happened after. It is not explained or Wokulski commits suicide or travels to Paris together with the inventor Julian Ochocki, to meet with Geist.
So I created this, to confirm the belief that everything ended well.
